Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for playing Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney has been renowned as the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue. Also, she was a part of the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney, the only daughter of an United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised by four siblings. Though she had a dream of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until her high school years that Delaney began to model. After moving from New York City and gaining an experience working as a commercial model in New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. Delaney was portrayed as an innocent child in the 1981 soap-opera All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of television shows, films and dramas after that. Similar to her profession however, her private life has not been easy or prosperous. The talented actor has had to battle alcoholism, as well as two divorces. In 2005, she lost custody of the sole child she had.
